The first ever original work I’ve posted here! I would really love it if you guys checked it out as it’s been a story in the making for a long time! It started out many years ago as an RP between me and @honeygoms (aka, HappySynthesizerlove ) and it was such a great journey for us, I always went back to it even after life came between us and we sadly couldn’t continue writing it. Now, after all this time of thinking about it, I’ve finally decided to do our characters justice and rewrite the story with a fresh eye and more depth. Because that’s what our characters deserve! xD They need closure! And hopefully I’ll be able to provide that for them. It’ll definitely be a long way from here, but I’m determined. And I hope you’ll be with me on this journey.

Anonymous asked: I read somehere that raven can feel the emotions of others and as an empath, is very compassionate. Why is she portrayed so coldly in almost all her adaptations though?
The long answer is that Raven’s powers are also tied to her emotions, so I always imagine that she genuinely tries to keep her emotions at bay to keep from accidentally hurting someone she loves. And that cool stoicism can easily be interpreted as standoffish and cold. But I think she really wants to be open and love those around her, and support them anyway she can.
The short answer is (as BW reminds me often) DC stands for Disappointing Content
Okay, at first I was gonna leave it at that because @xaphrin put it quite well, but honestly? I have some strong opinions about this and I’m in the mood for a ramble, so… Click the read more if you dare. xD (Also forgive me as I scramble some scans together for y’all and fail to provide some proper examples)
I think I should showcase a slight point here. I am extremely big fan of Superior Spider-Man and the Otto Octavius that comes from Slott’s run, which comes with some understanding of the flaws of the character fairly well. Woobification of Otto’s bad deeds isn’t really my thing.
From the entire reasoning for him taking over Pete’s body, the way he used it, the damage he did to his personal and (on a minor scale) super hero life, the… ya know. using Pete’s body to do the do with Marconi, etc etc. Hell, screwing with the Web of Life and Destiny, and then everything after his “death”. While I don’t particularly blame him fully for joining Hydra, since he was technically coerced into doing that, there’s also that. And everything before that is beyond mentioning obviously.
He’s trying to make his own mark and he’s an ass about it. A bit hard to let go of your big ego when you’ve spent more than half your life using it as a crutch. The theatricality he uses, hell the catchphrase he seems to have recently picked up (uttered by Julius Caesar himself) are all things that have always been inherent to him, considering his whole megalomaniac persona.
To summarize: After his original self’s death, and with it the resetting of the realization that he does need help, Otto is once again on a path to understanding that part of being a “superior” Spider-Man is learning how to trust others, something Otto’s never been too keen on (even during his Sinister Six days). Live the present, looking to the past in order to fix the future and fix yourself.
Thinking about this again and yeah, hate Otto all you want, I hate parts of him as well, but the fact he’s still standing and trying to do better through his own terms speaks a lot to me as someone who’s fucked up tons in the past.

honestly some of y’all want a significant other so badly and can’t understand why you can’t find one, but have no sense of boundaries or healthy expectations of what a relationship is like. in a committed long-term partnership you get left on read, you wait for texts back, and you can forget about each other when you’re busy. sometimes you fall asleep without saying goodnight and sometimes you’re too caught up to text each other before 6pm. that’s how it is. thinking that you can’t be deeply, beautifully in love and still wait more than “1.75 hours” for a text back is such an unhealthy and unreasonable expectation of what love is, and you shouldn’t be in a relationship if you can’t allow the other person to exist on their own apart from you. if you’re projecting your anxieties and insecurities onto a partner who doesn’t even exist yet, then you aren’t ready for one.

For people who haven’t been on Twitter lately, it turns out that there was a brief and extremely rare run of original, officially-sanctioned Spidey comics published in Spanish in Mexico in the early 1970s in which Gwen Stacy, who was a very popular character in Mexico, did not die and eventually married Peter Parker. There are about 45 original Spidey comics that were published by La Prensa, written by Raúl Martinez, and drawn by José Luis González Durán, the first Latino to ever officially draw Spider-Man.
